Hello Cheryl, hope you are well. Thank you for your reply.
Happy Halloween!!! Did you decorate your house? In Switzerland Halloween is not that common, but some neighbours put pumpkins and “ghosts” out. I like it a lot. Did you sew something special for Halloween? I still plan to do some stars for Christmas, but luckily there is still some…[Read more]

    • Hi Adi! Only a few Halloween decorations. We have lived on our street for 22 years and rarely get any trick or treaters! I think it’s because our houses are so far apart, we have no sidewalks or street lights. No lights is good for the viewing observatory that is only 1 mile from our house. They don’t like light! I did not sew anything for…[Read more]

Hello Cheryl, hope you are well and the week hasn’t been too stressful. I’m very happy it is Friday and I hope to have some time on the weekend to do some quilting. The Row by Row Event sounds exciting, unfortunately we don’t have it here in Switzerland. I looked it up in the internet and only one shop offers it, but that is a bit inconvenient to…[Read more]

Hello Cheryl, thank you for your reply. Hope you are well and had a good weekend. Southern California is a lovely place to live. I don’t know the Apple Valley but I assume it is very nice there too. Next year in October we thought about going to Southern California for vacation again. So we are just making plans where to go. One suggestion was…[Read more]

    • Hello Adi, Yes! There are two quilt shops in Palm Springs. I visited them for the Row by Row event, where you go to different quilt shops and pick up a free pattern and buy the kit too. They have this all over the world. Did you see it in Switzerland? You can go on Facebook and type in Row by Row and learn all about it. They had contests for…[Read more]

Hello Cheryl, hope you are well and enjoying a relaxing weekend. Thank you for your kind reply. We are very lucky this year with the weather in Switzerland. Although it is September we are still able to swim in the lake nearby. Where is your home? Wishing you a lovely Sunday with some inspiring quilting activities. Adi

    • Hi Adi, I live in Southern California, in Apple Valley. It’s in the high desert (the low desert is Palm Springs and it’s hotter!) Lots of wind and dirt! English Paper Piecing of hexagons is very difficult for me! I’m impressed!

    • Hello Adi, I visited Switzerland many years ago and love it! You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. My favorite place was when we rode the cogwheel train to visit the Matterhorn.

      • Hello Adi, Thanks for writing or I would not have known that you answered my message!
Yes, some days are still warm here in October. Today was 72 degrees Fahrenheit (I think that’s 22 C for you). And… the mornings can be 42 Degrees F! So it’s up and down with the temperature. We do get freezing weather here in the winter, even snow once in…[Read more]

  • Dear all, my name is Adi and I live in Switzerland close to lovely mountains and lakes. I just started sewing and quilting last year and I’m very keen on learning. I think this platform is a great opportunity to share and exchange ideas. I like all kinds of quilting, especially English Paper Piecing of hexagons. My first finished quilt is a table…[Read more]
